Oakley Ivan McKee was 42 years old when he disappeared from Wayne, West Virginia, on June 25, 1992. He was last seen that day, but after he failed to make contact with family and friends, concern quickly grew. Oakley was reported missing soon afterward, but no sign of him has ever been found.
Very little is publicly known about the circumstances surrounding Oakley’s disappearance. He seemed to vanish without a trace, and despite the passage of time, few details have been released. His case remains unsolved, and those who knew him are still left searching for answers all these years later.

Behind the Scenes of the Project
On April 9, 2025, a FOIA request was submitted in hopes of obtaining any available records regarding Oakley Ivan McKee’s disappearance. On April 19, we received a letter from the West Virginia State Police stating that they had no information on the case.
For now, the official record remains blank. But the absence of documentation doesn’t erase the person or the questions still surrounding what happened to him.
