Kathleen Virginia Farmer was 23 years old when she disappeared on March 20, 1984, after accepting a ride in Parkersburg, West Virginia. What began as an ordinary evening turned tragic, and Kathleen was never seen again.
According to later statements, Kathleen was taken across the state line to an apartment in Belpre, Ohio, where she was assaulted and killed. It’s believed her body was then disposed of in the Ohio River near the Memorial Bridge. Despite extensive efforts to find her, Kathleen’s remains have never been recovered.
Although two individuals eventually confessed to their involvement, no convictions were secured due to a lack of physical evidence. Over the years, her case has remained open, and the full truth of what happened to Kathleen has never fully come to light.
Kathleen was also known to use the names Kathy Jo Hanger and Cathy Lemon.
