Robert L. Shaffer was last seen on July 1, 2010, in Charleston, West Virginia. That evening, Robert left St. Francis Hospital before being formally discharged. About 45 minutes later, his credit card was used at a nearby bar on Leon Sullivan Way, which has since closed. In the days that followed, Robert’s backpack and cell phone were found near the Charleston Area Medical Center, only a few blocks from where his card had last been used. Since then, no one has heard from him. His disappearance has left his loved ones searching for answers that, even after all these years, have yet to come. Robert’s case remains open, and the hope for clarity has never fully faded.
