David Lee Adkins was last seen on June 7, 2016, in Montcoal, West Virginia. According to reports, he and several others entered the sealed Upper Big Branch Mine, which had been closed since a tragic explosion in 2010. The group was allegedly attempting to salvage copper wiring from within the mine.
David became separated from his companions inside the mine and was reported missing by his wife the following day.Despite extensive search efforts by mine rescue teams and law enforcement, no trace of David was found, and the search was eventually suspended.
