Morten Kurt Aigeltinger, known to friends as "Mort," was last seen on the evening of September 8, 2015, at a Sheetz gas station in Manassas Park, Virginia. He was 56 years old at the time. Mort, a professional photographer originally from Norway, had plans to photograph an event at Osbourn High School the next day but he never showed up.

At the time of his disappearance, Mort lived in Charles Town, West Virginia, on a property called Rainbow Hill Farm, which he shared with an on-and-off girlfriend and her mother. Those close to him described him as dependable and deeply committed to his work, making his sudden disappearance all the more troubling.

A few days later, on September 14, Mort’s green 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck was found abandoned about a mile from his home. The vehicle was intact, but the windows were rolled down and his wallet and cell phone were missing. His camera gear, something he was known to always have with him, was found stored inside a barn on the property. Investigators have considered foul play a strong possibility, but despite extensive searches and efforts, Mort’s whereabouts remain unknown.
