Alyssa Renee Smith was last seen in early February 2022 in Chelyan, West Virginia. She was 25 years old at the time.
Alyssa was known to spend time in several communities across eastern Kanawha County, including Belle, Witcher Creek, Crown Hill, and Marmet. She was deeply loved by her family.
Months later, in the fall of 2022, human remains were discovered in Boone County. DNA testing confirmed in September 2024 that the remains belonged to Alyssa. Her death remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details.
Even in the absence of answers, Alyssa’s family continues to honor her memory and share her story, holding tightly to their love for her.
